I'm not very sober right now. So if this topic has been covered before...I'd apologize, if I weren't so intoxicated. But, what's everyone's favorite regional/ethnic poison? I'm hesitant to admit/reveal, but Soju is one of the most dangerous substances on earth.... anyone else have any regional/worldwide favorites/weakness? I've heard of distilled spirits in Africa made from Palm Trees, has anyone had that? Absinthe experiences anyone?

In all countries I've been to, my poison has always been (and will always be) beer. When I drink beer from the region I've been to, like Orion beer in Okinawa, it brings back fond memories. I like whiskey too.

There's a good show that was on TV for a while called Three Sheets w/ Zane Lamprey .. he goes around the world drinking local spirits and beers, including some strange ones. Worth watching, might still be on Hulu but I'm not positive.

Hmmm may have to look into that. What was an army troop doing in Okinawa though? Haha, but on a more sober/intoxicated note, what were the greatest differences you noticed in the beers labeled as "IPA's, Blondes, Hefeweizens, etc. etc." I'm no connoisseur of beer but the classifications from around the world seem to be standardized based on some sort of standard.

I hate absinthe cause it tastes like black liquorice and isn't the LSD trip I was led to believe growing up. But I love me some beer, it will be the death of me. Food is in line to kill me next.
