I hope this is posted in the correct area. I need a little help from some of you on the wiring for my new heated seats. Please excuse me as I am not very knowledgeable with auto mechanics/electronics.

The kit I ordered has two separate switches OEM Style. No relays are needed. The hook up instructions provided to me I am fairly clear with but want to post my thoughts for approval/support.

1)Red wire is to go to fuse box and plan to run switches separately and connect to the Drivers/Passenger side rear window circuit using Add a circuits with 10 amp fuses

    2) Black will be ground under center console

    3) Yellow wire meant to be hooked to electric switch??? This is what was given to me, I believe can be tapped into the cigarette lighter hot wire???

    4) Green wire meant to be hooked to dash lights, I intended to tap this into the gear shift light under center console.

    Does this all sound right???

    Thanks in advance

I would never install seat heaters without using a relay and more fuses. I have the same kit you do and here's what I did.

+12v from battery to relay (fused at 10amp). 30 pin
+12v acc (only on when key is on acc or ignition is on) from fuse box to relay (fused at 10amp). 86 or 85 pin
+12v from 87 pin relay to junction box.
Ground from 85 or 86 to chassis (opposite of your +12v acc connection).

Connect your power leads from the seat heater kit to the junction box. The junction box should have fuses. Ground to Chassis. I connected my green wire to be always when the truck is on. It's not like it draws enough current to do anything. It's just a couple of LED's. You might connect both the yellow and red together since the relay will only supply +12v when the truck is on. I'd have to see your seat instructions to know for sure.
