Pretend for a minute that Toyota someday actually adopts CarPlay for use in the head units. Are the current Entune units designed so that could be updated to CarPlay?

nope. they run a proprietary OS. they would have to completely re-write the backend to accept apple/android.

i am in hawaii and the entunes premiinm radio here does not include XM and am trying to figure out if i relocate to the mainland is it just a software update? so far i can not get a answer.
