I have been searching the forum about this question.
They told me to look up in the second gen for an answer.
Should i go with synthetic oil,or should i stay with Toyota Dealer regular oil?
My Tac has now 102,000 kilometers, and i do about ten thousand kilometers a year max.
Some say that it is not a good thing, others say the oposite.
I am in Ontario,Canada, and our winter is just around the corner with lots of cold times as minus 25 and sometimes colder then that..
    Thanks
    Regards
    Charly

The factory Toyota oil is a full synthetic. If I remember correctly it's made by Mobil to Toyotas requested spec for their engines. Very close product to the off the shelf Mobil One synthetic.

Go synthetic as soon as you can. Use a synthetic OF also.

I started synthetic on my 07 Taco at about 30K miles (48KM) and I haven't looked back. Use Mobil 1 Extended oil and oil filter; change oil at 10K. I now have 134K.

That applies to the 2.7 liter 4 cyl. engine - 0W-20 and only available at this time in synthetic form. The 4.0 liter 6 cyl. - uses 5W-30. I've yet to find doc that says the factory uses 5W-30 synthetic in the 4.0 liter engine.

    OP shows he's running a V6.
