I have a 2007 dbl cab and just bought a head unit from a 2015. Was told it was non NAV but from other posts it seems to have plugs that support NAV. Could it be this unit will have NAV if I connect the external NAV unit? Same question on SAT radio, does this HU support it if SAT module is plugged in? The model is 86140-04050.

The Radio is XM compatible, but no navigation built in. You can use a navi APP on your phone.

Thanks for responding. Agreed, its hard to beat navigation built into the iPhone. Would still like to add it though at some point. So all the other bells and whistles are there with this unit if I get the pertinent antennas or external components like SAT, bluetooth, backup camera, etc? I dont have steering wheel controls on my 07.

That radio doesn't have a map card or also known as a SD card in the bottom right hand corner of the unit. If it had that you would be able to get the navigation and weather and traffic maps. Go to the FLTrucks thread and on the first page and I think it's the 5th post down shows the back of the unit and describes what goes were as far as plugs go. But yea it has all the other options you just mentioned. As far as the steering wheel features I can't help you with that. Good luck with your project. Hope this helps.

Another neat feature on these radios is the album art that comes on the screen with each song.

Cool. I have to say I am TRULY impressed with the audio quality of this 2015 unit over the stock silver head unit i pulled out! To my ears the sound seems cleaner, less muffled, and maybe even more powerful. I only have the CD audio to judge by but so far am pleased with this $100 Craigslist find. Some other questions I have now are:
    • How does the unit get an internet connection to DL apps? From bluetooth connnection to smartphone? Looks like it requires the mic before it will let me pair.
    • Also I noticed I cant set the clock and its set to automatic from GPS. Will GPS antenna fix this?
    • Is there a manual online for the radio itself? I suppose it may be rolled into the truck owners manual.
Appreciate all the info so far, will be posting up my findings as well as my 6CD changer with Metra iPod control.

One of those empty plugs should be your back up camera. I'm interested to see if you can get that working on this new unit.

Awesome! As far as I know on my '14 I have three antenna's. Radio - XM - And GPS. The GPS is tucked in behind the unit and I understand the shark fin is for the XM and then the conventional outside fender antena for radio. These radios are explained in both the large owners manual and they have a separate audio and navigation manual you might try to find. That's a hell of swap!!! Nice Job.

Thanks, it couldnt have been easier, I did the swap in 30 mins. I did read in another thread where some minor trimming on the inside edges of the dash will bring the lower portion of the 2015 bezel in and help it tuck in better to the top of the AC/heat selector panel. I bought the Metra AM/FM converter a few mins ago. Theres someonee on Dallas Craigslist that is selling complete upgrades including install. I emailed to see if he can help with the other parts like bluetooth mic, GPS antenna, backup camera, etc.

On the backup camera besides the install of the camera and wire run, I would assume this will need a signal wire from trans to activate when truck is placed in reverse. There was one small two wire plug left after the install that I am unsure where it goes but am not worried with it for now.
