    Hey all,

Thought I would post in here before I take it to my mechanic, but I have an 07 AC TRD OR with auto transmission and 79k on the clock. Recently the truck, after coming to a stop, will nudge forward with more force than I'm comfortable with. It's almost like I can feel a bit of a clunk, and then the truck nudges like it wants to take off on it's own. All while my foot is planted firmly on the brake pedal.

Anyone heard of anything like this? I've had the truck roughly 6 months and before that it was owned by a 90 yr old gentleman, so I doubt it was abused at all.

Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

How are your leaf springs? Could be axle wrap from 8 year old leafs.

The truck had the softest suspension of any truck I've ever owned, so a couple days ago I installed 5100's in all 4 corners and OME 885's. I'm sitting nose high wayyy too much so last night I looked into an AAL. Think replacing might help?

My truck acts in a very similar way. Although you mentioned you're not comfortable with it, mine isn't to that degree. It's like I'll come to a complete stop, but when I begin lightly letting off the brake it'll jerk forward. I sometimes think someone has rear ended me when it happens. I thought it was the yoke??

I'd definitely replace over an AAL, since they're older leaf springs with decent mileage on them anyway.

There are OEM replacements available, and I think also in HD configs if you want the benefit of an AAL without adding one.

General Springs is a company often used. @4WD has good info, too, I'm sure.

That's the exact feeling I'm having. It doesn't seem normal to me.

I need about an 1" lift out of my rear, but didn't really want to spend $500+ for an entire replacement.

Rebuilt 1st gen. leafpack with 2 Ford springs per side = 3" gain in lift/superior ride quality/increased load capac.

& the best part it can be done for less than $100...

When I purchased my truck, it seemed to appear worse with the stock components. I ended up replacing all my shocks as well with 5100's and placed a 1" block in the back. Now, it isn't as forceful as it was with the stock packs. Weird right?!?! Blocks supposedly increase axle wrap, but my experience doesn't match up. If I were you, I'd probably by new leaf packs. The stock ones (3 leafs) are prone to cracking/snapping, so it wouldn't hurt.

Front rotors and pads were installed less than 4k miles ago.
Is this something that will be with the truck forever, or will new leaf springs correct the issue?
