I seem to remember some guy doing this conversion for shits and giggles... not sure if its the same truck but I wouldnt want to deal with it even if it had a clear history.. Just makes me nervous. Did they do everything right? are there going to be rattles? And then you also have to try and explain why your truck doesnt visually match the registration info.

@logcabinwc "Trying to explain why your truck doesn't visually match" Wouldn't that just be, hey, I like the new the new 2012 front grill looks?

If i were to purchase a 2005 - 2011 model, I actually would like to make it look like the 2012. :)

@TacomaNerd It just takes a lot... you have to change the hood, grill, bumper, bumper bracket, headlights, fenders, and I think even the surround that holds the radiator and the rest of the front end stuff..
So yeah, it is a simple explanation as to maybe why, but it takes a good amount of parts to swap out.
Perhaps its just me, but I think its a ton of work, unless you ran the front of your truck into something and need to replace it all anyway.

I remember that thread. He didn't wreck it, just swapped out the front ends because he liked it better. It was a red truck.

I wouldn't let the front end conversion alone worry me, although I'd probably have a good look at the quality of the work done. Sounds like the OP made the right call though with a couple of other things he found out about the truck.
