Hi there! I owned a 2005 Tacoma Pre Runner TRD Sport. Last May of 2013 I broke the stack passenger side leaf spring, the one 2nd from the bottom spring. I heard talks about tacoma's leaf spring issues so I went to Toyota dealer and inquire for the warranty. They said it's no longer covered and if I want a new one it costs me about more than $ 800 excluding the labor. My budget was limited at that time and I need to drive my truck everyday so I went to buy a new after market heavy duty leaf spring. I found one from General Spring KC it's a 4 leaves with I think 2.75" lift on it. It cost me around almost $ 400 for the 2 packs. Yesterday while I was driving home from work, every time I hit a bump I noticed a kind of knocking sound somewhere at the passenger side under the truck. When I reached home I take a look under the truck and found out that the 2nd from the bottom leaf was broken. The same spot of failure as the previous spring. My questions are these; Is there something wrong with my truck that needs to be addressed that caused the spring to break on the same spot? Does anybody tried or familiar with General Spring KC products? How good and durable they are? They only have one year warranty for the product. Any idea, recommendations, or suggestions is very much appreciated.
Note: My truck's usage is just for regular street driving for work and driving kids to school. No off roads, no heavy cargoes.IMG_1497.jpg

Gotta be a fluke. Pretty crazy though. Piss anyone off lately?

Do a search. There are lots of threads on this.
I had 3 broken leafs on the passenger side.

If you're referring to the recall then you didn't read his post. He said it happened again to a new spring which would indeed be a fluke.
