Why would her insurance company be involved? It wasn't her car that struck yours. Her company is not responsible for any damage to your truck.

I got very lucky and it came out to be that because her lazy ass couldn't walk 5 feet to a carriage return. They got her for some type of negligence. Thought it would be a shot in hell, but her insurance paid out.

this may be a bit of noob question but wouldn't a bullbar just help transfer all impact to your frame?
One of the main points of a bumper is to help absorb the impact energy right? So wont a bull bar just transfer that all to the frame or something?

I'm thinking if you got into a fender bender wouldn't it be worse. Kinda like how if you have a tow ball on your back end and get rearended, all that force is going to the frame before the bumper?

Even in the case of some bumpers like the ARB etc, wouldn't it basically stop the absorption of a standard bumper

Nope, at least not in the way you think they do. They only protect against body damage in a low speed 2-1/2 MPH impact (5 MPH against a stationary vehicle of the same weight). They do nothing to protect frames and structural components.

Sure, but at any speed worth talking about...as in frame bending speeds...that bumper isn't protecting your frame. Pickup truck bumpers are exempt from the low speed impact standard.

I thought even at low speeds it would transfer an impact straight to the frame instead of absorbing it.
    But thanks for the clarification.

In all honesty it will to a greater extent than with a weak stock bumper but IMO its not a huge deal. Maybe a frame repair tech will chime in.
