Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I just have an AAL. Then I added a 1" block because bro lean with the bedrack and tent. I'm thinking about doing dakars or expos with a shackle flip... but by that point I might as well just man up and do it proper.

    Total, I'd say 11 hours

First weekend, I prepped the leafs by grinding the surface rust and painting them my buddy also welded up the hangers. We realized the bushings that Ruff Stuff sent were the wrong size even though I made sure my leaf springs were off a 98'. So that set us back to do it the next weekend. Got some energy suspension bushings for 55. Then the next weekend on Friday night we pulled everything, stock leaf springs, shocks and gas tank. Next day all day was cutting and welding.

How much quicker would it be if you had a plasma cutter versus just a grinder?

I honestly couldn't tell you since I haven't used a plasma but maybe @Timbo89 can say, he did all the welding and the grit of the work. I do know he used a torch as well to cut some of the stuff off.

    Here is the question Tim

Hey welcome to the party! You gonna be at RT16??
Its holding up great. Little unhappy with my shock relocation and placement, but other than that we're good! Chevy 63s are an awesome setup!

It's worth it, I just don't feel like doing it again currently haha. Was about 11-12 hours of work... and was in a Rush for Rock Therapy...
Ask @northwesttaco about that haha. Especially if you want to flip your shackle... a stock location leaf pack won't cut it...

Alot. I had 3 cut off by the time we got one off. So much faster. I just used the torch. Plasma cutter would have been nice though

I'm hoping to make it! I'm taking a big course and the exam will be about the same time as RT so I'm hoping there's no conflicts. It sure would be nice if RT was the weekend after the exam!

It's really nice having one. I got one a few months back and it saves so much time and headache. The plate I cut out for my new front bumper is 27" x 36" and it took me about 3 mins to cut out with my plasma cutter. Woulda taken me about 30-40 mins with a grinder haha.

Reminds me when i hadnt been at my job very long and we were slow so they sent us to another shop for a little bit. They didnt know what to do with us so they gave us nukie grinders and had us cut some big padeyes (like 12" tall and 6" wide or so) out of 1.5" and 2" thick HY80 steel. Took fing forever to do one. Only good part was it was just guys who got lent over so we go to BS quite a bit too

Course after we asked how they normally get them.....or we send it to the welders who have a CNC plasma cutter and they just make a sheet of them (20' x 8' usually) in a day or two.
