    I thought I read somewhere this same motor (3.5L V6 used in the 2016 Tacomas) was previously used on another Toyota but I can't find the information again. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    the 2GR-FKS has been ONLY used in the 2016 tacoma.

    The same motor has NOT been used in anything else.

    It is a GR series motor so it has roots from the same line as the 1GR/2GR etc etc and is MOST COMMON to the 2GR-XXX series

    It is the 2GR-FKS. It is not the FXE. Those early notes were mistaken.

    It should be noted that different versions of the 2GR-FKS is in the new 2016 GS350 and the new 2016 RX350.
