    Anyone ever done this?

I have one on my white 250 and just bought a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee with one on there. They are both very old and have oxidized and been scratched to all hell after over a decade.

I'm debating on just removing them. They are way too expensive to replace, especially two of them.

I've read some people have used heat guns to remelt the surface but I don't feel that is safe for the paint.
Is this the best way or is there another method.

Should I just take the bras off? I'm not sure why my truck really has one.
