    TW,

I need to replace the original suspension on my 03 4x4... I wouldnt mind a slight lift, maybe 1-2", but I dont want to alter things to the point that other components begin to wear faster. I dont really go wheelin in this truck, it is my daily driver and weekend camping truck. Mostly used to haul dirtbikes, go snowboarding, rock climbing etc... I probably use 4WD a grand total of 20 days per year.. I need this truck to stay reliable, so I want to keep it simple.

I have been looking into the Old Man Emu kits for about 1K.. they seem like a pretty good option for what I am looking to get... I have noticed some people swap the nitro charger's for the bilstiens, is this a cost issue or do they just make a better shock? And do I really need to replace my leaf springs? Mine look pretty flat, but I wasn't sure if that's how they are supposed to look???

I also plan to throw some new BFG KO's on there once I get the suspension on.

    Any advice or comments welcome!
    Thanks guys,
    Dave

rear springs: If they look flat they are flat. Start shopping.
front springs: The main issue is to stay under 2.5-3" unless you also buy upper control arms.

I have Nitrochargers on order because I perceive them to be a premium setup designed for my truck. The Bilstiens are indeed a higher performing setup than stock replacements. Some people have complained they somehow get stiffer over time. Popular here also because they cost less than OME.

I also have OME 880 coils on the way; my street truck doesn't need to be any higher than the ~1" lift they'll provide up front. My goal for rear leafs is to similarly stick with original height, which more or less means General Spring HD replacements (lower cost, stiffer) or Deaver J59s (highest cost, nicer ride, but only lift 1.5" whereas the other 'name brands' all lift more, sometimes a lot more like 2.5" or 3".)
