Absolutely!!!!! although don't listen to me. I'm the one always asking questions. But I have done it before(past 2 truck had three gauges on one power line). Never a problem or failure.

My gauge now says it only draws 0.2amp. And the fuse I used the add a line in was a 7.5 (number 2 and it said "Gauges" in my block)

Just spoke with my gauge people at Speed Hut. And it is not possible to make both dim. So at least I know it's not me. Just letting you guys know incase someone ever runs into it.

Nice gauge but can't hook up to our Variable ground system and make both face and needle dim off the Tacoma Rheostat. You would have to buy a separate independent Rheostat.

Also, been waiting to say this for a few days. DONE !!!

There is a separate power for the needle. I'd bet I could come up with something. Though I'd probably have to open the gauge and change the pilot of the needle ground.

I'm sure YOU could, but no way I could....ha

It's alright though. I don't mind it. I never dim anyways. And when you do you just see a red needle. It's not bad. I just want people to know because those Speed Hut gauges are nice because you can make them custom. You can even e-mail a pic of our dash and they can make them look stock!!!! I went with trying to look like the original TRD Boost gauge.

Here is what I did. But I picked the wrong night lighting. They even said if I sent back they would change for me for only $20. Might do that in a month or so but right now I'm gonna enjoy using it!!!!!

By the way Sandman I meant to tell you this last night. This is just so you know. No spare plugs behind my blanks. I don't know if it because of mine being a 2014 or maybe because it's only a sport? But nothing there. The cheap SOB's So I just tapped into an existing switch. It was so much easier since you told me that. I thank you and the rest again. I'll end this thread now.

Yea, the newer models have more accessories than my 2006 sr5, I have lots of empty slots and connectors. You did the right thing though, tapping into a used one is just fine.
