Just curious what the current 3rd gen owners think of the new Goodyear Wranglers that come stock on the TRD Off Roads? Any better than the previous OEM Rugged Fails?

And I was also curious about the stock tires on the SR and SR5? What is the size and are they still the dunflops like previous 2nd gens?

They have two different Kevlars; Canada and US.
    US(42lbs) vs Canada(35lbs).
    I have Canadians.
    They suck.

Bald, retreaded tires are better than brand new BFG Rugged Trails.

Right, nothing could be worse than the stock TRD OR tires that came on my '13. Horrible tires.

I'm not sure if it's all other models, but at least for the SR versions, it comes with 245/75 Firestone Destination LE2s.

They're very highly rated highway/allseason tires with average weight and low rolling resistance. It's by no means an off-roader, but it's better in the dirt than most allseasons. Tirerack has them as one of their best rated and highest selling tires. I put them on my 1st ten prerunner and have been very happy with the results.

As someone that goes mainly on the roads, rarely hitting the trails, I'll probably get the same LE2 but a little bigger since the 245 looks a little silly.

The ones that had on there were Hankook Dynapro highway tires, I forget the exact name of them.

Oh really? On an SR? Maybe they put different tires on the 16" black wheels than the steelies. I've only driven SRs with the black wheels so my perspective is a bit limited.

It looks like a decent OEM tire as far as Toyota goes. From Rugged Fails, to Dunflops, to Bridgestone Dueller HT's (COME ON HT'S? at least equip your 4runners and FJ's with the Dueller AT!!!) This Goodyear is the best offering they have had of late.

in all cases all circumstances if Toyota OEM does not say Michelin on the side, then whatever is there, is junk.

I have some experience with the HT, and I give it a good grade for being quiet and performs well on wet road conditions...wait! So do most car tires...oh ya, it is basically a car tire in truck tire sizes
