I bought a 2105 in June because I didn't want to deal with first year problems. As posted above the engines and trannies in these trucks are proven.

Take a read on the problems, although small, they remain a bit of a witch hunt for dealers, that the 3rd Gen is having. Namely the stalling of the engine and oil pressure lights. If having a truck that could potentially have these problems doesn't bother you then it really boils down to spending the extra cash for a 2016. I personally still like the look of my truck more then a 3rd Gen, even in person. Inside and out, and it's not because I have a 2Gen. In fact I was a little nervous that I would like everything about the 3Gen more but that's not the case. If I had it to do again today, I would still get the 2Gen.

I just bought a 15 in June, I also wish I would have waited for the 16. I had a 05, loved it, then went to a tundra for few years, decided to go back to smaller truck. I test drove a 16 limited (after I bought 15) and it seemed to have a lot more room in the front seats. Also I loved the interior, and sun roof! I'm not a hard core off-roader so I like the goodies the 16 offer inside. Oh well I'll just wait couple years then upgrade.

I convinced myself to buy the 2015 knowing I could always sell or trade for a 2016.
    I think I will keep the 2015.

Actually the torque on the 2016 is slightly less than the 2nd Gen V6.

There will always be some issues on new run vehicles. No matter how much testing you do, once tens of thousands of vehicles start hitting the roads the problems will start to pop up. Very common. If you read around this site you'll see plenty of small issues that are similar to one another starting to pop up on the 3rd gen.
