95 Tacoma SX 4x4

I'm building a flatbed for my 1st gen and I'm a little confused on the wiring for the tail lights. I am going to have the tail/turn be the same light and I read that there is a converter that I need, but I also read that there is a certain converter I need if I go with leds. I have search online and I think it just made me more confused. Anyone out there have any guidance on flatbed wiring and what I would need?
