Wife and I test drove a sport 4x4 dbl cab and it rode real good. I cant believe no adjustable seat height. Crazy!!
Hood is long but nothing is perfect. Wife did not like ride in the off road but did in the sport. I really like the off road better because of hood without scoop and the crawl control and that feature.
That said I am in a 15 tundra crew tss 4x4 I got a year ago. Really like it a lot but it is really big. Just her and I 99% of time or me commuting to work 80 miles round trip a day of 400 miles just to work .
Has anyone went from tundra to new Tacoma?
If so do u regret it. Basically trade value is equal and id give them my 15 tundra with 15500 miles on it for a 16 taco Trd double cab 4x4 with premium pkg. Any help.appreciated. sorry for long post earlier I cleaned it up. I do like size of Tacoma for.driving in traffic and parking. Much easier. tundra is more comfy but louder engine and tighter in traffic and parking but sweet ride still.

I went from a Chevy Silverado CC/SB with the Duramax to the Tacoma. I sure notice the size and power difference. The new truck is nicer for me because I mainly off-road, and don't use a truck as a "truck" to much. I off-roaded the crap outta the Chevy. I do miss the power of the Chevy. Is the motor in the Tacoma adequate? I think for my uses it will be, but I sure wish they would offer a V8 in the Tacoma. I think if I could have gotten a locking dif or ATRAC in the Tundra, I'd of bought one of those.

Yeah, you're probably right. I know they put that smaller v8 in the 4 runner for awhile. I don't know anything about that motor, but a little more power would be nice.

it sounds like you will be driving on the highway. get the sport. it will get better mpg with the street tires and front air dam. The color matched items will also look better on the highway.

You can also save gasoline by getting a two wheel drive.

what's wrong with me? Will I live?

well 4x4 is must because I go to creeks and rivers and remote areas to fish. Plus I also have to go to work when weather is bad either way running a trucking company so 4 x 4 is a must. Not sure I like the sport scoop on hood but maybe it would be ok. Plus like I said Tundra is fine just bigger than what I need and when I get another boat will be less than 2500 pounds

with the amount you save on gas, you'll be able to buy a non-Sport hood.

I used to the the 400mi/ week for work thing. That sucked. I considered a Tundra this time around, but damn...the size....and gas mileage....ugh

I sold my SC LT Tundra and got the 4x4Sport. I use my taco for work and with 400-600 pounds in the bed I'm getting 330-360 per tank. So much easier to drive around town in the taco.

Here I am trying to decide between a TRD OR DC (Prem/Tech) and a 4Runner Trail w/ KDSS because for some reason they are the same price.

You can't haul dirt in the 4Runner

me, too, minus the KDSS. MSRP is similar...out the door is not. I have an offer of $3k off of MSRP for a 2016 4RT. That is without haggling.

Oh right, there's that. Won't be making a sandbox anytime soon. Figured a utility trailer might work for other hauls. I'm just realizing the Tacoma is in fact a little overpriced.

Think the 4Runner is made a bit better, being Japanese etc? I just worry that they'll have a completely new design in 2017, next fall. I'm not in a super rush for a new vehicle. Does the supercharger (if I can find one) fit the 4.0 in the 4R? EDIT: Never mind, I did a search and it won't fit the 4R.
