Softopper Third Brake Light?

After a few months of driving around with my Softopper raised I realized that it conceals the center high mount third brake light. Having one visible is a requirement in all fifty states yet Softopper doesn't offer a kit. So, for you Softopper owners, did you install a DIY third light or do you just always retract the top when not in use or just taking your chances with law enforcement?

 

The chances that you'll be pulled over for this is slim to none. And if a cop does pull you over for something this meager, he's looking for something else to get you on.

 

I'm not big on giving them ready made excuses.

 

You can put 3 red led studs wired into your brakes up at the top and it's legally recognized as a third brake light

 

I have an idea and components are inbound via UPS. If it works as well as I think it will there should be a DIY thread up next weekend.
