Definitely not synthetic from the factory.

And my V6 uses 5w-30 as per the owner's manual and the designation printed on the oil filler cap under the hood. I did change to Mobil 1 all the same.

I believe 0w-20 is for the 4 bangers.

The 3.5 uses 0W-20 as the factory fill. 0W-20 is ONLY available as a full syn

I love how people can use the word definitely and be totally wrong.

    OK... I'll bite.... enlighten me.

I know that synthetic was definitely not used in 2012, but I just noticed that the OP (and this thread) is definitely a 3rd gen thing, which definitely has a different engine, so I could be definitely wrong.

    ;)

What I have gleaned from reading posts on the "Bob is the Oil Guy" site, the 3.5L V6 in the 3rd Gen gets 0W20 synthetic from the factory. 0W20 is only available as a synthetic. The TGMO (Toyota Genuine Motor Oil) in the factory fill is indeed sourced from Mobil, but it is not Mobil 1 and has a slightly different (cheaper) anti-wear additive set.

It's a doubled edge sword. It's thinner so it has better start up protection, but the additives aren't as good as some oils out there. Eneos Sustina 0w20 has caught my eyes lately. The UOA look solid.
