Does your motor make a noise after you shut off the ignition?

When I turn off my V6 2013 Tacoma, the motor makes a noise like a cough or wheeze when it shuts down. Just does it once. Motor has 42K on it.

Any ideas?

To me it sounds like a vacuum everybody tells me it sounds like transformer going to sleep hahaha

 

Or like an old cat, barfing up a lung on the sidewalk.

 

It's your intake. Changed the oil on my truck the other day and had my brother start the truck to make sure I wasn't going to have any leaks. When he shut it down it made a noise like it was sucking air.

 

...unless of course you're talking about different sound.

It used to drive me nuts. My '79 Pinto never made such horrible sounds.

 

Nor did my '79 Bonneville, or my '73 Comet.

 

Why is my '15 4Runner perfectly silent???????????
