Sorry I ask questions.... I thought thats what the forum was for.. I m not going with the skjacker kit. I can get a kit a lot less and buy shocks separate.

fronts are just a spacer, so the shock stays. rears, you should get some longer ones. I put NAPA shocks #37032 on both sides in the rear cause they're exactly 3 inches longer when extended. work perfectly for a simple 2.5 or 3 inch lift. i have a 2000 trd ext cab 4x4 (see avatar)

    *edit*

i got a daystar 2.5 inch lift. the rear shocks needed to be longer, the fronts stayed the same since its just a spacer.

thought you said you got one too. i misread so im adding this for clarification.

peeps on this site don't really like this kind of lift, I don't know why. it works great for me. probably because this one exists. but I'm happy with my selection. it's helped me clearance wise.

Strut spacers arent liked because of the rough bottoming and front end damage caused. Even if you dont wheel youl come into situations where joints are over extended and the shock is bottomed. Over time it takes its toll.

OP if you want cheap and decent riding buy 4 5100s and an aal. Set fronts to 2.5" you can always upgrade to eibachs later.

I bought a 96 Tacoma a few months back that just had a Toy-Tec 3" lift put on , I found the new Bilstein shocks are too short for the rear axle. The ride is horrible, yesterday i added air bags to the rear axle suspension and removed the shocks (so I can get longer ones), the ride is great now. Now I'm not sure if the guy bought a kit with shocks, but it might be best to just use your old shocks as a guide at the parts store to get 3" longer ones. I have Bilstein 5100 series, p/n:F4-BE5-D560-T0. Hope this helps.

The d560 5100 is the shock that comes with the toytec lift

Oh, they seem too short to me. I can grab the rear bumper, lift up by hand and move the suspension up about a half inch and feel the shocks stop the travel. My rear suspension is all leaf, no blocks, so maybe it's slightly more than 3"

3" lift kit only lift rear about 1.5" to level the truck. Not sure what shocks were on it before if thats all the uptravel you had

Oh I see. Yeah I have no history on this truck, all I see is the Toy-Tec lift he mentioned. The back is slightly higher than the front, so it must be more of a lift in the rear.

With a 3" kit the rear is lifted 1.5-2". You can get away with stock length shocks but be prepared for a bad ride.
