image.jpg New owner of a 2015 Taco access cab, it's bare bones and I use it for work. The rear has no speakers and I need to know how to install the wires to the stereo,do I need harnesses or what it's basic stuff just really don't want to rip the whole thing out. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I won't go into details on wiring because if you want to start from the very beginning, it's best you spend time researching and reading basic audio installation videos. Your question is like...I want to build a house...what's the basics...it's not to that level... but I will just give you some suggestions.

    1. Best if you don't understand this stuff is go to reputable audio installer and let them do it.
    2. If you are on a tight budget, the first thing is to find the electrical wiring diagram receiver and find out if there's a rear speaker output for you. If there is, then you are in luck....most likely it'll be 22W or less RMS of power. From the picture, it seems you have a subwoofer of some kind and some kind of passive radiator in that sub box you have.

I'm not sure what you are asking for is what you really want? Is it bass you want so you want to make it louder more volume of sound like dance/hip hop/rock or more folk/country where you sounds from the front and back? The reason is that if you want the subwoofer...then really the stock radio isn't going to provide enough power to move the speakers to produce enough bass for you... So if you want a subwoofer, then you will need a high low adapter for the rear channel output of your receiver if it has it...if it has RCA than you can just connect that to the amp. If your subwoofer box has a built in amp...just run the RCA cables to the amp.

If you don't want to spend time learning or audio is not a passion for you... again, best you just take it to a shop and let them do it for you. You just bought the truck and it has warranty, last thing you want to do is go cut wires that you shouldn't or wires things where it damages the electrical system of the truck.

Since your question requires a lot of detail explanation, I just gave you a high level guideline... I suggest you go with option 1 unless you want to spend time learning and doing and risking your warranty. Good luck!

You could check out your local TW forum to see if anyone local can come help install or give you some tips while you install it. Too much information out there depending on what you want. Do some google research.

image.jpg Ok the first pic is of the rear speaker this is the radio, one end of wire goes to the rear speakers,on the radio end is there a harness clip there that I can get to or do I have to remove the stereo, I'm quite capable of reading a schematic just trying to use this service to save some time and energy just an easy install or it's not really worth it to me

It's not as simple has connecting two wires. At the very least you will need a LOC and an amp if you plan on running subs.

If it was that simple could someone answer the question is the clip accessible or do I have to remove the headset, stereo, radio, system, whatever? Because it's a 15$ speaker that's all, simple no amps, capacitors flux or other, no subs no doodads.just black and red x2,clip and access to it, thank you.

I think I get what your after. I would remove the head unit, not hard. Then tap into the rear overhead speaker wires, run your wires under the door sill and fish em to your speaker as invisible as possible. Hopefully helpful.

If you are capable of reading a schematic, you wouldn't be asking these extremely basic questions and wanting to be spoon feed information. I'm being blunt, but respectful... just from reading your questions it shows you really do NOT want to learn. Simple search such as radio installation and such can show you want is required:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/mod-day-4-installing-2014-oem-radio-into-2013-pictures.310362/

Ramon was kind enough to do a write up. Read the link it'll give you a guideline about the receiver removal.

Once you get the receiver out you can see what model is your radio and then go online and search for the speaker wire output. If stock receiver has rear speakers or not...if it does, then make a harness or buy one and connect them to your to your $15 speaker. If you want to run them above or below carpet it's up to you...just make sure both speakers match their connection polarity. If the speakers are out of phase...it'll sound like crap.

The frustration part is your fixated on installing something you have no clue is right for what you want and not sure if you know what you want. You want someone to tell go find me how to connect this speaker...tell me what port and what pin to connect them.

Well I gave you a link and how to... your job to figure out the rest.

Thank you and sorry about sarcastic remarks, just don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill. Step one of dealing with molehills is not a bag of dirt it's eradication of the vermon just as step one of installing speakers may not be removing the sterio when I may be able to simply use a mirror and flashlight to remove a clip make the harness then plug it back in or buy parts and have them ready. Also your right I do want to be spoon fed some info before getting hands dirty, why not use the web as a tool!, it's free and doesn't require a tub of GOJO when your done, ok not free. In my fantasy world I just want someone to post a pic showing the rabbit hole I reach into that gets me to the magic golden clip.

i think the harness connector for the rear speakers is behind the LF a pillar

no need to remove radio, wire colors for '14 were light purples IIRC

Running wire and installing the amps in the Tacoma is somewhat of a big and time consuming job. You need to have good wood working skills, good sense of electrical, a set of tools, experience taking interiors apart without damaging them, good common sense and problem solving, and then the budget. This really shouldn't be the type of project where you need to run to the store because you need a tool or material.

Also I don't think any else has ever mentioned this, but the standard car stereo head unit is typically pathetic in terms of power output. Once that aftermarket head unit is purchased and listened to, it's very easy to become dissatisfied with its very limited volume output level...and so starts the slippery slope!
