I have a lot of respect for the information I receive from this board, not being much of a mechanic, ( I do do some things such as changing oil, spark plugs, filters etc) but when it comes to the big stuff I need help. here is my question, I have an "09" Access cab, 4x4, Auto, with 36k miles, I do not have the towing package, I recently towed (about 7 months ago) a trailer with two MC's about 1200 lbs, from Minnesota to California, should I get the oil in my Transmission changed? I did drive through the mountains, but was very careful as to what gear I was in (not using overdrive,) The truck runs fine, no problems, but was wondering just what you guys think I should do,? I called the local Toyota dealer, and they quoted me $175.00 to do the job, is this about correct? I really value your thoughts, Thanks

No. That's not much of a load to start with, and with 36K miles I wouldn't touch it, particularly as it looks like the dealer is NOT doing a flush, just a drop and drain on the pan. The flush is in the range of 12 quarts. WS is not that cheap. I did mine with MaxLife synthetic which is under 20 bucks a gallon, 60 bucks or so for enough to flush it pretty well.
