265/75/15 tires. I bought my taco a few years back and I love the performance. However the MPG's aren't that great. 19 in town, slightly higher on the hw.
Should I switch to a smaller tire? How much better MPG's would that afford me on an extra cab?
How would the off-road performance suffer with smaller tires?

I've got a 2002 4cyl auto with 265/70/16 size tires. I get ~17-19 mpg in the city and as high as 22 on the highway if I stay below 65mph. Your numbers sound about right, but I can't give you any advice on smaller tires.

Specify on what size 265 what?? 265/75/15? 265/70/16? 265??? I have 265/75/15's and get on average about 20-21 mpg mixed driving as high as 22 as low as 18. I have a 2000 2.7l prerunner with 90k on it. You may want to if you have not, check air filter make sure its clean, check fuel filter "which I also need to do". I know many people will argue the fact but I picked up 2 mpg when I ran some lucas injector cleaner. IT WONT HELP!! if you only run it once. Run about 3-4 tanks with the cleaner and then youl notice a difference. Soon to be 245/75/16 off a 09 Tacoma!!!!:D:D:D
