    Hello TW!

I have a technical question. I am looking into a baja bug but the one I am interested in has a few problems. The owner said there are small leaks in the valve cover and brake system. Is that big deal or is that something relatively cheap and easy to fix?

    Thank you.

Anymore info? Specifically where are & how many leaks?

Small leak may be no issue but...

I messaged the guy and he said it was a gasket that needed replaced. But other than that I didnt get anymore info from him.
I was thinking I'll have a mechanic come with me.

The old bugs had a tension wire/clamp that flips over the center of cover & it's pretty secure & as long as the gasket (OEM cork) is good it usually doesn't leak, tho' I'd upgrade to a rubber gasket....

& yes, take someone who knows air cooled vw's..& see if the seller will be more forthcoming about brake system or other issues...Key to keeping a VW alive is clean oil & stay up on valve adjustments...
