Hey everybody, I tried finding a thread specifically for this but couldn't. Through my internet searches I learned that you can install a plug and play backup camera on most 2014 and 15 Tacoma's that didn't come with one. I believe that the only model not pre-wired for it is the 2014 regular cab. You can check to make sure you are pre-wired by following your wire out of your tailgate and under your bumper, if there are 4 wires on both sides of the wire harness it connects to you should be good to go.

I thought about posting a detailed write up on it but there is already a video for it, so I will just post that. You have to run the wire to that harness behind the bumper, but it is relatively easy. The camera is here http://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Tacoma...46511539&sr=8-1&keywords=tacoma+backup+camera

The video for the install is here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zOQoh0oyvY

I wasn't hankering for a backup camera but I figured why not? It turns out that it is very useful. If you have any questions about it I'll be happy to answer them.

Pretty cool for those that don't have one. I decided I wanted one when I was shopping around for a truck. It is by far the most useful optional item I've ever had on a car. Its actually easier to back into parking spaces instead of pulling forward. I haven't had to yet, but I assume it will make hooking up trailers a lot easier too (maybe even backing the jet ski into the lake)

I agree. I love it for backing into parking spots, you can safely get close to whatever is behind you. I have used a backup camera for hooking up trailers on an F150 and it is amazingly helpful. No more guessing and no more running into the tongue of the trailer.
