I drive my truck once every 1-2 weeks. Is there a battery that's good for this type of use and with electronics (2 amps for speakers and sub)?

I'd prefer not to use a tender but if that's the only option... well, that's the only option.

An AGM VRLA deep cycle battery for sure and I would continuously charge it with a temperature compensating smart charger while parked to keep the battery fully charged.

I have used a 1.25 amp Battery Tender Plus with a quick disconnect for years to keep my batteries fully charged especially when when the ambient temperature is below freezing, bad weather, or short (less than 10 mile) trips. If I require more than 10 amp hours, I reset the eight sulfation timer every eight hours by interrupting the AC power for a few seconds. I continue this regiment until the car battery is fully charged. Small output temperature compensating chargers, like the Battery Tender Plus, were designed for charging and maintaining smaller power sport batteries, but will work just fine on car batteries if you reset the sulfation timer and are patient. The key long battery service life to prevent an accumulation of lead sulfate by keep the battery fully charged and proper preventative maintenance.

Except for your fancy sound system My Tacoma can sit a week or two between having to do some work !!

    I just use a Interstate MTP-24

That is now a few years old no problems that I know of.

My battery problems come from forgetting about the batteries in vehicles that sit for months

You will probably have good luck for a few years with a good deep cycle battery. I have a Mustang that I only drive on the weekends that I keep on a Deltran Jr. battery tender. I also use it on the truck a couple days a week to make sure the battery is topped off because I live only two miles from work.
