Well, I bought a new pair of leaf springs, General HDs, and just got around to mounting them today. I got the old flat stock spring off, but the stock shackle doesn't seem to fit on the new spring's bushing. Here is the shackle on the stock springIMG_20151025_162148548.jpg Nice and tight. Here's how it fits on the new spring.IMG_20151025_162236274.jpg
Any ideas? Do I need a new bushing?

Interesting. The new set looks like they assume the shackles should fit flush, but that would create metal-to-metal contact wouldn't it?

The stock spring appears to have an anti-squeak rubber spacer/bushing on the outside ends.

The newer install is missing this piece and it appears that the shackle is splayed out as well.

Yep, the new set doesn't have the rubber spacer that the old one has. Does this mean I have to order a new pair of bushings and get the ones they came with presses out? Thanks for the help, I spend about 2 hours working on rusty old bolts, only to find that the new part didn't fit.

So is it a separate spacer on each side you can reuse on the new kit or actually wider (one piece) bushing? If that latter, I'd be interested in hearing what General Spring said when told they installed incorrect bushings.

The old one is all one piece. I'm kinda interested too. We'll see in a couple days when I have time during business hours.
