I had a leaking windshield, it leaked near the glass holder on the roof. Took it to the dealership and they replaced with an aftermarket windshield. This new windshield leaves streaks and just isnt as good as factory.

Who can I contact about having this issue resolved when the dealerships around me wont? I'm in Washington state.

I don't have an answer for you, but being in WA I am curious which dealer you went to.

You contact the dealership. Not exactly sure what else you could to besides speak to them. Just out of curiosity, how do you know it's aftermarket? What does the price sheet say?

Well, that was your first mistake. Everytime you have something worked on your vehicle, always demand a receipt of some sort. Try contacting the dealer about it and see what they have to say. I'm honestly surprised they didn't hand you a form that showed the service.

The service guy gave me a whole big sales pitch about aftermarket parts being just as good yadda yadda yadda. He didn't mention that I was getting an aftermarket window and it didn't occur to me they would put a sub-par windshield in.

You go to a dealer to get OEM parts. I shouldn't have to ask my dealer if they are going to use aftermarket.

When I needed a TPS sensor for my 22re, my dealer (Toyota of Kirkland) informed me that the OEM part was no longer available. They carried Denso brand sensors, which was the original OEM supplier and they asked me if that was ok instead.

What logo is on the glass?

Toyota doesn't make any glass, but a oem supplier does, your replacement may be exactly the same as OEM without the Toyota logo.

The glass may not be the issue, there could be some contaminates on the glass causing streaking.

alot of dealers contract from auto glass businesses, my friends uncle does auto glass and he gets calls from the dealer to go install them all the time so they choose what glass is used most of the time.

If it was replaced under warranty then you tell them you want Toyota glass. More than likely they used cheap crap that Safelite or similar installs.

If you want to clean that windshield use simple green and a dish sponge or ceramic stove top cleaner. I had a windshield I couldn't clean and the car detailing shop gave me the tip. Why did they replace the glass and not just reseal it?

    this

    ceramic stove top cleaner

buff the ever living crap out of it with paper towels, or cotton rags,
prepare to sweat , but if you pile some on, buff yourself blue in the face
until it dries, and get a new cotton rag and buff the dry stuff off till it shines, you will get all the crap off it but not damage the glass

THEN wash the glass again with stoners

This I dont know, when I dropped it off they said they were just going to reseal it. I get it back and it has no logo at all on it. I am willing to try to use the buffing techniques described in this thread. I hope it works but fuck them for pulling this.

Not that I go looking all the time or that they don't exist, but I have never seen an auto glass that has no logo or markings on it...
