Off Topic: Stereo Install Question (non Toyo)

Greetings fellow Yota owners-

My wife drives a '10 Jetta TDI. Recently, the radio went out. I've checked fuses, and trouble-shooted my way all through it with no resolution. Apparently, this is a somewhat common problem. From what I am hearing VW wants aroubnd 800$ to replace the factory radio...

That said, I'm looking at replacing the radio with a relatively inexpensive (DIN) unit. Went to a local car stereo installer and he stated that with conversion kit, etc it would be in the neighborhood of 400$

This seems like a lot for a radio that costs roughly 150$. Does that seem right?

Find what fits the car and they will provide you with everything needed to replace the stereo yourself. They also have excellent technical support and service if you get stuck.

 

Thx. I've done an install a few times, but they were on older vehicles.
