    Well it depends where you are; some places it would be fine to, other places not so much, getting out and crawling into the bed is quite conspicuous, might draw attention... it is technically illegal to live/sleep in a vehicle...

    Buy a topper with a rubber boot, remove the rear window.

    That would seem like the ultimate solution. First I need to see what is involved in removing the window (could it be put back in if need be?), and if there are any caps made with a large opening that would match up to the window. Then I believe an accordion boot is the way to go...

    Rear window is removed/replaced in about 10 minutes, requires strong hands and fingers, nylon twine, vaseline. It's easy.

    Caveat emptor with a boot is the 3rd brake light. I've had caps with boots on all of my Toy trucks, and the only problem is the sealing around the 3rd brake light. The boots are made to fit larger than the cab window, the boot fits well except for the bulge of the 3rd brake light, that has always been a problem.
