Did the timing belt, water pump and all other stuff and now the engine is running much more hotter than before. Its warming up pretty fast and keeping steady at 199 with small peaks at 201 and some drops to 197, even in traffic jams the temperature do not go more than to 201. In highway, face to the wind, do not drops bellow this 197. When i ordered the parts did not take care and bought the stant thermostat without jiggle valve. Curiously the tstat removed has the jiggle valve hole, but not the valve ( the hole was placed at 12' and the valve looks factory). My concerns are if i'm now running to hot, or in the past, due the continuous flow off coolant through the unvalved hole, i was too cold.

When i replaced the timing belt, after all the war to put her in, when i checked the alignment, with the cams in TDC, i was a 1/8" off in the damper mark. It was not aligned with the zero timing mark, the mark is this little before the zero mark. What this small misalignment could cause? The engine is starting and running as before, steady iddle at 600, no pings, heard no knocking, no codes.

just put in a radiator flush tee just before the heater hose connection on the firewall to purge the air out, that's all a jiggle valve is there for.

as to the missing jiggler, it probably just fell out and ended up in the bottom of the radiator somewhere

    199 isn't hot - is it?

My scan gage usually reads 197-203 depending on the weather.

no. my truck usually runs just under boiling point at all times as well. maybe he just didn't clock/align the thermostat properly.

My concern is just because before of the replacements, i usually runs colder and not so steady ,the temp. oscillates much more. If this range achieved is the factory predicted, i will wont mess with the cooling system trying to burp again or change the t stat.
