Wouldn't just hitting ECT pretty much solve that?

Don't mean to be preachy, but try not to allow your feelings to be affected by the opinions of others. You bought the truck for yourself, not somebody else. If you don't like the 3rd generation you bought, that's your problem; if THEY don't like the truck you bought, that's THEIR problem.

torque converter lock up results in a lower RPM change. These are approximate numbers only. On my 2013 @ about 70 when the torque converter locks up tach jumps from 2100 to 2500 when it drops to 4th tach reads about 3000

    Too few to list.
I've had both the manual and the auto. I found the manual is a bit clunky to use as a daily driver especially in stop and go traffic here. The auto is good especially when towing. No complaints with the 2nd gens here.

The only TRD's I've seen around me are between $32K to $39K with all the options and 4x4. I guess people are rounding off. MSRP for pre-runners with the tech package is already at $36K+.

... man, if you pay 36k here in Cali then it would be 40k after taxes :(

Exactly. Taxes and fees kills us here and that was a pre-runner TRD OR with the tech package. 4x4 and you're looking at over $43K+ out the door.
