Hey everyone. So the leaf springs on my 2010 taco trd offroad finally broke. Even though it's recalled, Toyota hasn't done shit for me over the past three weeks so it's time to get something done.

I decided Im going to get all aftermarket parts from Toytec and just lift the truck while I am at it. I just want to make sure everything I am getting will fit and work properly so please give some insight!

    I am going to order:
Rear: 2 1/2" lift complete rear Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs, 9in U bolts and some generic shocks to go with it for now
Front: Height adjustable 5100 bilstein shocks. Just the replacement shocks though because I cant afford the full coils right now.
Question:Will these 5100s work with the stock suspension set up in the front? Any insight on the quality of the leaf springs?

Thanks everyone! Ill post pics of truck when its lifted.

If yours are broken, they have to replace them per the recall. It's just the same ones, that are currently on there now. IF i were you, i'd call another dealer and tell them.

Ive called a couple. They will replace them at my cost around $1600 and then reimburse me when the second recall comes out.. which they dont know when that will be. If I am digging up $1600 bucks I might as well use it to get leaf springs that will last and shocks all the way around. It will cost me about the same either way

Called 1800gotoyota as well and they said the same thing. I even told them I was going to call the attorney generals office and we got nothing. I will try again.

I would say try to get billys for the rear too and not go generic it would not cost too much more and would be done and you would not have to change it.
check out wheelers offroad they are great and no sales tax
i had some shitty pro comp rear shocks from toytec when i first lifted truck and it was a rough ride

I've had two leafs fail on me, both at separate times, as well as both add-a-leafs I got from toytec. But ya I had to pay to get the OEM leafs replaced by a different shop because the leafs have been back ordered for 7 months now and my dealer won't install non-OEM parts. Waiting for the recall to submit receipts...

And Toytec wouldn't replace them but instead of refunding me my money they gave a credit to the 2koolperformance (had to order third party because I live in canada). And 2kool won't let me us the credit unless I spend a min of $300! BS!

Go aftermarket? Was thinking air bags but they don't stand up to the salt...

I went 5100 Height adjustable up from and 5100s in the back, Love the ride!!
