89 toyota pickup

I've got a freshly rebuilt 89 toyota truck. When the clutch is pushed in the truck wants to cut off. And this is the same thing it was doing before it was rebuilt the a couple months ago. And the battery light and brake light flashes every now and then Any body know the problem?

do you still have the stock carb on it? or is it fuel injection

Check for broken or bare wires around the clutch pedal. My dad had an old truck where every time the clutch pedal was depressed the metal pedal arm touched a bare wire that grounded out the coil! Crazy things like this are hard to diagnose but usually simple to fix.
