What's up all? Have a 2005 tacoma double cab, SR5 4X4 and I'm not real sure if this is a problem or just poor programming by Toyota but my cruise control acts real stupid when going up hill, even a very slight hill. It will constantly shift up and down a couple gears to try and maintain speed which causes the motor to Rev high and low repeadedly.

Anyone have similar experiences or fixes? Or is this just normal?

Mine does the same thing. It regularly goes 5+ mph above the speed it's set to up hills as well. Every Toyota and Lexus I've ever driven has whacky cruise control.

Normal. That is why on cruise and starting up a hill I just press the gas a little to keep it going to maintain speed.

Annoying, but it is what it is... Every Toyota I have ever driven with cruise control was like this.

This is exactly what I do. It's just really annoying. I typically feel it going between 4th fifth and sixth gear when going up even a slight hill. I was figuring it wasn't a problem and it was probably just for ramp up programming for the CC but wanted to put the feelers out.
