Android app that can read ABS codes?

Has anyone found an Android app that is compatible with the generic OBD/Bluetooth adapters and can read ABS codes on a Taco?

I have downloaded many apps including Torque, Uscan, Carista,and Bluedriver, but all of these apps either: don't support ABS codes for the Tacoma, or Require an expensive proprietary bluetooth dongle.

Any ideas?

 

I'm sure you going to need the extra special tool to plug into the vehicles OBDII computer harness. There won't be an app that simply reads into the trucks computer without some form of decent plug in.

 

Thanks for the response, but I probably should have been more clear in the original post.

I do have a generic/universal $20 connector for the OBD port that connects to a phone's app via bluetooth. But the only apps that I have found that actually claim to read ABS codes require the use of their proprietary bluetooth connector; these seem to be in the $100 range. I have found one app (Carista) that will connect with a generic dongle and read ABS codes, but cannot do so for a Tacoma according to the specs.

I am hoping that someone has been more successful in finding an app that will connect to the universal dongle and read the ABS codes from a taco.

 

Techstream OBD to usb cable... 25 bucks on ebay.

Then figure out how to get the techstream software up and running on your laptop and you can read ABS codes all day long.

Actually used my same setup to read my buddies truck and figure out why his traction control light was on solid after an alignment. This was due to the steering wheel was off centered before then recentered. Did a full traction control sensor reset via the software n boom... errors gone.

 

Torque works just fine with me, and not with a proprietary Bluetooth dongle. This one:

ABS / traction control codes are not the same as check engine codes.... torque will not read them.

Generic adapters are not going to read vehicle specific codes. That usually requires a more expensive reader programmed with them.
