Wait till you get the fenders, or be like me I'm gunna cut the fenders to fit around my sliders cause they are already welded on( standard dom bamf sliders) 4wd and sliders Are more important then sum bedsides that cover your tires and keep your mirrors from shattering from gravel-ask me how I know)

I said might be lol. I can't remember if he said he had a 220 or 110 welder as I only have 110 outlets.

I don't think it makes sense though since I can't stay past noon and I don't want to rush welding anyones rig.

 

Yea Id really like to get on the road semi early so we're not showing up after dark. If everyone could show up to MOD day pretty early Id appreciate it. That way we can knock out as many mods as possible! Which reminds me, I need to start on my headlight retrofit.

Got sidetracked this morning by seeing one of stray kittens from next door running around with what looks like a dislocated rear leg. I say stray because they are always outside and when we fed her she ate like crazy

 

And yea, I only have 110 outlets in my garage for now. Need to have the father in law come over and install a 220 outlet for me

I'll be heading to Hollister late Saturday morning, I'll try to set up camp in a couple of spots.

 

Don't you have a dryer outlet? There usually 220v but that's different then 208v

 

It will take up to 240, but 208 is the min. Singe phase.

I'm going to pickup an aluminum spool gun to see if I can start learning how to do that. I want to build a camper!

 

If your going to get an aluminum gun spend a little extra and get a push pull setup. It will make your life so much easier!

 

Like having it pushed out the welder and then pulled from the gun?

I was going to pick up this:

 

The spoolmatic's work well but are big, bulky and you are limited to a 1lb spool. With a push pull they are smaller lighter and you can run a full size spool at the machine. They are more expensive, I think in the $1500 range and I am not sure if they will work with your machine. Worth the extra money IMO if your gonna do a lot of it.

 

The gun is $1200 I think so that's not much more! I'll ask my welding supply shop today.

I'll try to make it to mod day & Hollister. We should talk. After owning a 4wc & Flippac, and lurking on Expo for 7 years, I've got a few ideas.
