I thought I had left my interior dome lights on, but...

If the remote fob is in my pocket the lights come on when I approach the drivers door. Is this new, is this unique to any of the tech packages?

My wife's Prii have doing it for 10 years. The car recognizes when it's fob is nearby.

Just reach for the door handle and it will unlock. Touch it when you get out and it will lock.

Yeah, it's a nice feature, the problem OP is referring to is that whenever you walk by the truck with the FOB in your pocket the interior cabin lights come on. I did the same thing as OP and thought I had left my lights on.

It's pretty annoying to have the lights come on every time I walk by the truck in my driveway. Makes me have to double check that it is locked every time.

Then reprogram it in the trucks menu to not do it.

Yes, you can program a ton of things. I reprogrammed my fob to open all 4 doors instead of just mine when I grab the handle. I have kids so made sense.

Yeah I'm not seeing anything either. I know the manual talks about changing how the doors unlock and you can program that by putting the shifter in specific positions and hitting the lock/unlock buttons, but nothing about the dome lights when you walk by.

LOL this is the first time I have heard of people having this inconvenience...
My second car ever was a 2008 Lexus IS, I think I walked by the car about a hundred times before I got tired of it.
Now I just expect cars to know that I am around and light the F-up when I walk by... "Bow down to the master!"

hey, so if you walk by the driver side of the truck with a key, the light comes on for about 10 seconds. But not on the passenger side. still dont see option to turn off. Kinda like it though.

Well just realize that even if you left your light on the truck will auto turn it off either way. So calm your worries.

I can't think of a reason to have this feature turned off. Seriously, how often does one walk by their car that would cause the lights to go on/off all the time?
You get used to it over time and you learn to appreciate it during dark hours and you trying to get into your car :D

I walk around my driveway all the time when working in the yard or garage, so it's constantly going off. My main issue is that I'm not sure if it's coming on when I walk by, if I left a light on inside the cab, or if i accidentally bumped the keypad and unlocked the truck.

You have to grip the door handle to open it..the touch pads are for locking only.

No, I mean the FOB. It makes me think I accidentally hit it in my pocket and unlocked the door.

Oh God, I set off the panic button when my house key hits it. Happens to everyone, not sure it's worth its own thread.
