I have been having a problem with my 1998 Tacoma that is driving me mad! Acts like dirty MAF or throttle position sensor but have replaced both along with new plugs, wires, and checked coil packs. After replacing the MAF all was well for 11 days then back to same symptoms which are 1. Delay in acceleration when pressing the gas 2. A sensitivity when pressing or letting up on gas pedal causing a lurching or lunging. The RPM's are not affected and it is not consistent. Some days it's so bad I want to punch walls, other days not so much. For the most part there has been no check engine light. It came on once and gave a code for the throddle position sensor which I had already replaced and the check engine has not come back on. Just the one time in the 6 months I've been trying to figure it out. Suggestions? Help?? Also, this is my first attempt at a mechanical post so any suggestions on how I can help you, help me would be much appreciated. Thanks, D

Check that where the throttle cable comes through the firewall .

    My bracket broke loose there.

Do you lube your throttle linkage once in a while I do mine about every oil change

Then if you used Aftermarket sensors sometimes they don`t work so well.
