Not sure if this is the right place for the question.
So, I bought my daughter her first car from a dealer 4months ago. She's off in collage and away from home. She calls last week, says hey pop's did you ever get the reg and plates for my car. Crap I forgot about that... So I call the dealer and no answer.. I call several times a day for a few days with no answer. I say screw it, I make the drive down... and find they are out of business. Would the bank be responsible for getting the tags now? I've already put 4K down on the car and made 3 payments on the thing... Hope I don't have to pay for reg and Lic again.

No, I just found out the place was closed down a few hr's ago. I was going to call the bank in the morning to see what they said. Just wanted to know what I'm in for so I can pull the last of my hair out tonight lol.

I guess it would depend on if the dealership took the money and ran or did the job until the doors closed.

DMV should know pretty quickly if you're in the clear or not. After that, and they say no, I'd probably contact whatever appropriate state office is and report what happened. If you got screwed, I'd assume you're not the only one, and you may have recourse.
