    I have a 2004 DC 5VZ SR5 prerunner none TRD.
Everyone says that only TRDs have progressive rate coils but mine has them from when I bought the truck (second owner). Apparently this has created issues when I take the truck to a garage to repace the suspension. I like the progressive coils and want to buy another set. My question is 1, has anyone used the PR coils and leafs from northwestoffroad.com?tacomacoil.jpgspring55b.jpgI would get factory TRD PRs but the garage said they will not fit. Im going with as close to factory hight as possible with bilstein HD or 5100s. Thanks for any help.

I don't know why garage told you they don't fit unless they're too long, the wrong ones or they (most likely) either don't know how to or don't want to be bothered with it...

NWOR is often out of stock on their progressives. I've read mixed reviews about them, with some VERY bad reviews about their parts failing and NWOR not standing behind them. That dissuaded me a bit, plus they were out of stock when I wanted to buy springs.

I went with Moog non-progressive springs. They feel a lot better than the worn out TRD progressives that I had.

I used General Springs for my leaf springs. I bought their HD springs which are supposed to be 1.5" higher than stock after they settle in (which takes a while), so if you go that route, get 5100s.

If I knew then what I know now, I would go 5100s all around (instead of the 4600s that I bought), General HDs in back and OME 2800 springs up front with the 5100s set to 0. After everything settled, it would be about 1.5" taller than stock front and back.

Okay, thx for the Info. So those are not the way to go. I thought about going 5100 all around but I dont want the roughness of a preloaded coilover. I guess if I got a really soft coil than the preload would not be so harsh. I have no idea how to pic out coils, how to tell if they are stiff, soft or can carry weight and how much. Thx for the help.
