AFR Sensor in URD Y-Pipe?

I was tempted, but went with Matt's route after talking with a few choice peeps here and otherwhere

 

I still have all four of my cats. If I were to install my sensor at the merge in the Y pipe how far off would my numbers be? Or would I be better off installing on the passenger side exhaust manifold?

 

Just a few tenths.

 

So I would be totally fine mounting it there? And what I have to worry about anything like the sensor not getting hot enough?

 

Totally fine. Just read the instructions for "clocking" it.

 

I have a the AFE uego guage and I don't remember reading anything about clocking in the instructions

 

Looking on Google I found stuff about clocking the MAF, but nothing about an AFR

 

Ugh..... Make sure the sensor is mounted between 10 and 2 o'clock.

Click on the "instructions" tab and scroll down near the bottoml of the PDF file.

 

It's looking like the wire that came with the sensor is not long enough to make it to the merge in the Y pipe anyway. So I guess I'll just have to put it on the passenger side exhaust manifold

 

That is weird. I have an AEM as well. My sensor wires run from the driver side firewall, down the frame, across the crossmember over the drive shaft, to the passneger side. Plenty of wire.

 

Ah, you have the wire routed differently than I was planning on doing. I came out through the rubber boot on the driver side went across the back of the engine bay to the passenger side and then tried to follow the harness down but I'm a few feet short. I could probably make it if I went straight across like you did

 

The guy at the exhaust shop that I went to strongly recommended that I put the sensor in the passenger side exhaust manifold. Now I'm really torn on what to do...
