    For towing purpose is it better to add leaf spring or add an airbag helper?

    I prefer using the Airlift/Airbags. You can make adjustments based on the load. When your truck is empty you don't suffer from a stiff ride.

    I have the airbags and like them, but even they stiffen the ride a bit. You have to keep a few pounds in them. I suppose so they won't get pinched and start a leak but Firestone says to keep 5lbs in them.

    Is there an issue with airbags getting damaged when you are crossed-up and have a lot of droop on one side of the rear axel? I guess the real question for me is are they a realistic option for a truck that is used off road?

    I can't really speak to that, as I don't off road. I bet if you search airbags someone will have addressed it another thread.
