That's a HUGE discrepancy to the 8.1 seconds that C&D reported.....

Makes you wonder all the complaints about the new engine are just psychosomatic.

The boosted brake system of the trd or stops 7 feet shorter than the 4x2 access cab. Tested at 350 pounds heavier.... Wow

That was surprising. The tires and wheels are different also. It seems unlikely the AT's on the OR would have better grip and they are likely heavier (guessing, not confirmed), so I would think it would tend to have longer braking distance even at the same weight. So I can see how the difference may well be the difference in the boost as your mention. I thought I remembered hearing that the OR 4x4 has wheel sensors with finer pitch. Perhaps that helps the ABS work more efficiently.

Anyone look at the Colorado test for truck of the year? The Z71 Duramax they tested was over $47 grand...

$47 grand for a midsize truck

    $47 GRAND

They're so car like it pains me. The diesel idea is cool if that's what you're into, but they cost so much more it'll be a LONG time until you see the savings. And by that time, the GM product will have to outlive its expected 100k mile lifespan

I wouldn't pay that much for a Tacoma either, but I'm more about off road capability and reliability than engine specs for the most part. That's why I'm buying a Tacoma and not a GM product

14s with bolt ons. Waiting for URD to come up with some goodies for the 3.5.

I knew it was better than 8.1. My 3.6 8speed ram was barely in the 7s and it definitely feels slower than my tacoma.

Whaaat...... Am I reading the charts right?

Looks like the Taco pulls a load more quickly than the new twins diesel? Maybe MT found the ECT button that C&D missed?

I don't know. With all the tech and computer crap involved, simple bolt ons might not improve the power of the motor. Many modern engines lose power from bolt ons without an ECU flash. Toyota may have already eek'd out most the power from the 3.5.

Thats more inline with how it feels, and what i expected. It makes more sense than 8.1, that was dirt slow imo.

I've certainly wondered about the CD test. With 3000 miles on my DCSB MT I'm passing Tundras and Silverados several times a week driving up the passes. The weight/power ratios are nearly identical, but either the gearing or the extra efficiency of the MT is helping me out.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
That was for the Trail Boss Package. 2x4 is 36k. But yeah, that's steep and well within the full size truck market.

For anyone who wants to see that stats back to back stats, got them below. Observed MPG's are pretty impressive for the Colorado. I have a feeling the Colorado will be the winner.
