    Gathering info on installing a Pioneer AVIC8100. Wondering how to conceal the antenna wire. Any help would be appreciated.

    are you trying to run a satellite antenna from the roof to the HU? I ran mine from the front (had the rear mount with a previous receiver) and ran the wire inside the window seal down into the engine bay and into the cab through the wire grommet used for other wires, up through the dash and into the HU.

    I want to replace my stock radio with a Pioneer 8100. not sure how to run the navigation and xm antennas. I called Crutchfield and the tech told me to run the wire out the door and stick it on the roof. Not thrilled with that look.

    Just lay it on top of the Headunit, The magnet stuck to it and there is only a thin plastic layer of dash inbetween. I have a strong signal the whole time. Its the same as laying on the dashboard under the windshield.

    I took out the headliner sound proof the roof but it can be done by just dropping it and working around the edge. The only catch is you need to check which adapter cable you need, it seems it can be the male or female side the good thing is both are available. I got mine from Amazon it plugged in and works perfectly I think it was worth the work.

    I did the stealth antenna mod. Pulled off the bed rail on passenger side, installed antenna at rear corner, ran the cable forward, through a rubber plug into the rear of the cab. Reinstall bed rail and you have great reception and nothing shows. Do a search on this Site and you'll find the installation thread.

    Went with this. Would have done the bed rail thing but I had a shell put on. I put the GPS antenna non the hu. Thanks for the helpimage.jpg
