I have a 2015 Taco 6 cylinder. I have a few noises, I wonder if they are normal.

The 1st: When I have my system on defrost, at times it has a whistle to it. The intensity varies, sometimes barley there, other times its very noticeable. Toyota dealer says that is comparable to other Tacomas

2nd: the engine makes a ticking sound, that I liken to an old school lifter or exhaust leak. Normal?

    Thank you.

As Rock Lobster mentioned, the ticking sound is normal. Adding a supercharger helped cover it up.

engine noise is normal and that whistling could be stuff in your cabin air filter which is i believe located behind the glove box

The noise I've never understood is the noise when you turn the engine off. Always reminds me of a starter Bendix kinda noise...
