I won't have mine back until tomorrow (not too heart broken about driving their 2015 for a few days) but when I do get it, I will post pics of what is replaced.

If they replace my 6yo muffler and tailpipe that are showing the effects of 6 New England winters, I will post a video of me dancing a jig in the service center parking lot...

I kinda figured that getting a new muffler and tailpipe for free was just a crazy pipe dream.2015-11-11-14-27-47-804746829.jpg

Bummer, I guess the manager I spoke to made an assumption also. I was the first one at that dealership to ask about it.
Did you get your old cats back?

they put a new mid pipe and new gaskets and hardware for it. I did not get the old cat back. They also reused used the same O2 sensors I am happy with it, it runs a little smother at idle so that's nice. But overall not any major difference just a new piece waiting to rust. It took about two hours and I got a free car wash!

Anyone know if these "special service campaigns" are ever extended to other engines? I have a V6 2010 Tacoma and I needed the muffler replaced a few months ago... a few days after, I got a CEL and the code was for exhaust leak or bad catalytic converter, ect... the dealer did a check on the exhaust, and said it was fine. I took it to another shop and was told the same thing, the cat is bad. I live in NY, so I need to pass an emissions check during inspection, but the inspection isn't due until March 2016.

Anyway, I'll probably wait but I was wondering if anyone had experience on these things getting extended, ect...

    Thanks.

It is possible. Then again I could get hit with a meteor while I'm sleeping tonight...

I doubt that this will progress into the V6 models...

Just set up my appointment for next week.
Might be able to fix it under the emissions warranty.

You'll know if yours does it! It drove me crazy. People on the street would look at me all crazy and had to shut it down at drive thru. Local dealer did a great job. Had it handled within a week. They did not have the parts on hand. Only took a couple hours at the shop.

Like how the 9 total parts only come out to $1,328.56, and the dealer pads $702.04 to soak Toyota for $2030.60.

With knowing the ways Different dealers are repairing vehicles with various parts and costs back to the owners/corp, Does anyone have a Actual repair instructions from Toyota? for the Service campaign listing with parts?? I just want to be sure I/we get was supposed to be covered/replaced and not what the dealer just decided to do... and double dip to the Till. i.e. - Previous post - Was the $702.04 for parts that they charged Toyota for but did not replace ???? (Muffler, tailpipe, etc.)
