I think I quadruple checked mine before drilling the pilot hole. What are you using to cut the sheet metal?

Don't know yet. Just ordered it. Figure I'll go through the DIY instructions on here and make sure I get the right hole saw. Any tips you have?

I read that hole saws could cause problems if you don't take your time or are not careful with them. I really do wish I had used one though. I wound up trying to use a dremel with a metal routing bit. I never could find the sweet spot on RPMs to cut the metal and the bit kept binding. It wasn't pretty but it got the job done.

Cover the area in painter's tape and mark your center point. The tape will help prevent too much scratching if the saw moves around prior to getting a good 'bite' on the metal. Recommend using two layers of tape in different directions.

I sanded and painted the edge to try to prevent rust.

Just drill a pilot hole for the circle cutter. No slipping and scratching with that

Biggest problem I'm facing right now is how to mark the holes. Since you can't push the snorkel flush with the part that goes through the fender, I'm having trouble seeing where the studs line up.
